Zusammenfassung:[...]no book has covered comprehensively on the topic of digital consumption. [...]this book edited by Rosa Llamas and Russell Belk, is extremely timely and relevant. Themes and flow of ideas The coverage of this book is extensive, ranging from research on children (Researching children in a digital age: theoretical perspectives and observations from the field by Vebjørn Tingstad) and online dating (Dating on the Internet by Helene M. Lawson and Kira Leck) to gambling (“I don’t really know where the money goes, do you?”: online gambling and the naïve screenager by June Cotte) and gaming (Online Games: Consuming Experiencing and Interacting in Virtual Worlds by João Pedro dos Santos Fleck, Marlon Dalmoro and Carlos Alberto Vargas Rossi). [...]Andrea has not fully expanded on the concept of co-creation, which is essentially an offshoot of crowdsourcing but among her suggestions for future research, she recommends a continuation of research into sustainable crowdsourcing that follows the principles of collaboration and based on “the motives of consumers for engaging in co-creation process”. According to him, what “prosumers – consumers who produce content”, see as creative output or entertainment, may actually be exploitation by the corporates.
