Zusammenfassung: | L-type calcium channel (LTCC) gene Cav1.2 on astrocytes play an essential role in the alteration of Ca2+ homeostasis and a line of calcium-related glial-cell functions and neuro-glial dialogue. A wealth of experiment revealed that oxidative stress and reactive astrogliosis account for most neurological diseases. Existing studies shows oxidative stress induces influx of Ca2+ into the cell through LTCC. In this study, we directly investigated the effect of oxidative stress inducing by hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) on LTCC Cav1.2 α1-subunit. We found that H2O2 upregulated LTCC Cav1.2 α1-subunit protein but not mRNA, suggesting H2O2-induced changes in Cav1.2 α1-subunits most likely through posttranscriptional mechanism. |
