Zusammenfassung: | Two‐dimensional metal oxide nanocrystals are often made by a chemical delamination process in water, which involves a layered oxide phase as the starting material. The exfoliated nanosheets have aspect ratios comparable with that of a paper sheet, and they are also very flexible. Oxide nanosheets can be used as building blocks for the construction of improved or entirely new functional materials for a wide range of application areas: nanoelectronics, energy storage, catalysis and tribology, to name just a few.
