Zusammenfassung: | This paper describes a microstrip patch antenna embedded with SSRR structures in the ground plane for ISM applications. The antenna characteristics are suitably enhanced by incorporating the metamaterials, as these are directly etched in the ground, without disturbing its radiation patch. SSRR directly interacts with electric fields making it persuade out the left-handed behavior of metamaterials, which is usually stated by series capacitance and shunt inductance. Integration of genetic algorithm to the proposed metamaterials antenna yields an enhanced gain of 7.696 dBi with a size reduction of 16.89%. |
