Zusammenfassung:Since 2008, D. suzukii has emerged as a serious pest in both Europe and North America, where it is now widespread and abundant (Walsh et al.2011; Cini et al.2012). Apart from its dispersal abilities, it is highly polyphagous, infesting a number of wild and cultivated species of soft-skinned fruits and berries (Bolda et al.2010; Centre for Agriculture and Bioscience International 2020), in both its native region and in newly invaded areas. Since the detection of D. suzukii in Canada 11 years ago, there has been a great deal of research activity, some of which is reflected in this special issue of The Canadian Entomologist.
