Zusammenfassung: | In this work, we present influence of gamma irradiation on DC Conductivity properties of Mg-Cd nanoferrites. For the purpose, Nanosized Mg1-xCdxFe2O4 ferrites of different compositions were synthesized by solution combustion. 60Co γ–rays source with total exposure dose of 310 kGy at the dose rate 6.1kGy/h has been used for irradiation purpose. The so prepared samples were structurally characterized. The FTIR analysis showed the shifts in absorption bands towards lower wave number due to the substitution of Cd2+ ions of higher molecular weight. The Force constant (K) found to be enhance after irradiation due to the ionization effect of gamma irradiation. DC Conductivity of all samples has been investigated in the temperature range 300-800K. The increase in the DC Conductivity and Curie Temperature (TC) were observed for all irradiated samples attributed to the surface states pinning of domains released and conversion of Fe3+ ions into Fe2+ ions due to ionizing effect of γ-radiation. |
