Zusammenfassung:Transition metal-catalyzed transformations of carboxylic acids and their derivatives via decarboxylation–CO 2 fixation cascade contribute to an important class of indirect chemical utilization of CO 2 and allow obtaining heterocycles. Recent examples of palladium- and copper-catalyzed domino decarboxylation–CO 2 fixation reactions are summarized in two main categories: generation of cyclic carbonates and oxazolidinones.
