Zusammenfassung:The purpose of this study is to determine the social appearance anxiety levels of students participating in school sports in different branches. The research was conducted in Balıkesir province during 2016-2017 academic year and a total of 983 students composed of 589 males and 394 females from Anatolian High School, Vocational and Technical High School, İmam Hatip (Religious) High School, Science High School and Social Sciences High School voluntarily participated in the research. Descriptive method was used in the research and the assessment was made. Required permissions were taken from the Provincial Directorate for National Education for the performance of the research. Later on, schools were visited and the students participating in the school sports were informed related to the research, and the study was conducted on the volunteer students for the questionnaire. In order to achieve the goals of research, personal information form and "Social Appearance Anxiety Scale (SAAS)" were used. "Social Appearance Anxiety Scale" developed by Hart et al. (2008) and adapted into Turkish by Doğan (2010) is a 5-point Likert type scale composed of 16 items. The answers given to the items of the scale range from not at all (1) to extremely (5). The scale has one sub-dimension and the minimum score that can be obtained from the scale is 16 and the maximum score is 80. The increase in scores of the scale means that students are experiencing more social anxiety. The value of .91 was determined as Cronbach Alpha coefficient. The data collected from the students were analyzed in the SPSS 20 statistical program after being transferred to the computer environment. From the statistical analyses, one-way Variance (Anova) analysis was used for three and more groups. Tukey HSD test was used to find out which group caused the significant difference. p
