Zusammenfassung:SiCp/Al composites were machined with carbide cutting tools, the surface morphology of the materials was examined with SEM and EDXS. The SiCp removal in the aluminum matrix was studied on the basis of the brittle fracture theory. The fracture and shear removal mechanisms of SiCp were demonstrated, the conditions of SiCp brittleness-ductility removal were revealed. The SiCp/Al milling was investigated in SiCp fracture. The mathematical model of the SiCp/Al fracture force was constructed on the basis of reasonable assumptions, consideration of the contact between the hard phase of the milling tool and the workpiece material. Research on the SiCp/Al brittle fracture mechanism laid the foundation for improving the milled surface quality of a SiCp/Al composite.
