THE IMPACT OF ADDITIONAL PROGRAMMED TEACHING OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION WITH THE ELEMENTS OF VOLLEYBALL ON THE TRANSFORMATION OF MOTORIC SKILLS OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

Zusammenfassung: | The research was conducted on a sample of 172 elementary school students who were divided into two groups: (E) experimental (n = 54) and (K) control group (n = 118). The experimental group (E) had additional programmed teaching with volleyball elements for 12 weeks, two classes per week, while the control group (K) did not have any additional programs of physical activity apart from regular physical education classes. "Bounce the ball against the wall" test was used for assessment of coordination. To assess the flexibility "Sit and Reach" test was used. To estimate static arms and shoulders' muscular strength, "Bent Arm Hang" test was used, and to evaluate the explosive power of the lower extremities the test "Standing Board Jump" was used. The research aimed to determine the efficiency and to check the influence of programmed teaching models of physical education with volleyball elements on the transformation of motor skills of students of elementary school. The difference between the percentage increments in both groups was calculated by applying the t-test for independent samples. The obtained results indicate statistically significantly better results in the experimental group in the test for estimating the explosive power of the lower extremities, as well as in test that was used for assessment of body coordination. The practical value of this research is reflected in the application of programmed content with volleyball elements to improve the efficiency of the teaching process. |
