Zusammenfassung: | The contemporary World is focusing on the least exploitation of natural resources as the regeneration of nature is being experienced costly. The automotive and aerospace field has similar motive where the least consumption of fuel is targeted through achieving maximum possible fuel efficiency. Curtailment of the structural weight of automobiles and aircrafts can contribute significantly to accomplish efficient fuel consumption. However, lightweight design and production of these structures are challenging as low weight is possible through multi-materials structures for which competing joining medium is needed. Friction based joining processes are preferable and the current paper overviews typical joining techniques to apply in automotive and aerospace industries. |
