Zusammenfassung:Investigating the relationship between the character strengths and emotional self-regulation is important because the constructs can help to reduce psychopathologies and contribute to healthy development. The study aiemd to analyze the prediction of the character strengths in relation to emotional self-regulation in the face of sad events. The sample had 233 students, between 18 e 52 years of age (M=23.20; SD=5.588). Participants responded to Scale of Characters Strenghts(SCS) and Emotional Self-Regulation Scale-Adult (ESRS-AD). Each ESRS-AD fator was predicted by at least three character strengths (βbetween 0.177 and 0.375). Except for strength spirituality, all strengths were significantly associated with the factors of the ESRS-AD (rbetween 0.14 and 0.47). The results seem to indicate that the character strenghts vitality and self-regulation are the ones that most contribute to minimize emotional difficulties. New studies are suggested in order to understand some results found in the character strenghts. How to cite:Noronha, A. P. P., & Batista, H. H. V. (2020).
