EVALUATION OF ANTIFUNGAL ACTIVITIES OF NEWLY SYNTHESIZED BIMETALLIC CYANIDO COMPLEXES UNDER LABORATORY CONDITIONS

The aim of the present study was to search the in vitro antifungal activity of the bimetallic cyanido complexes coded, Kl([Ni(hydeten)2Ag(CN)2][Ag(CN)2].H20, K2 [Cd2(hydeten) 2Ag4(CN)8].H20, K3[Ni(bishydeten)2Ag(CN)2][Ag(CN)2].H2(), K4 [Cu(bishydeten)2Ag2 (CN)4], K5[Cd(bishydeten)0.5]2[Ag(CN)2]4.3H2...

Zusammenfassung:The aim of the present study was to search the in vitro antifungal activity of the bimetallic cyanido complexes coded, Kl([Ni(hydeten)2Ag(CN)2][Ag(CN)2].H20, K2 [Cd2(hydeten) 2Ag4(CN)8].H20, K3[Ni(bishydeten)2Ag(CN)2][Ag(CN)2].H2(), K4 [Cu(bishydeten)2Ag2 (CN)4], K5[Cd(bishydeten)0.5]2[Ag(CN)2]4.3H2O, K6 [Ni(N-bishydeten)Ag3(CN)5], K7 [Cu(Nbishydeten)Ag3(CN)5], K8 [Zn(N-bishydeten)Ag3(CN)5], K9[Cd(N-bishydeten)]4[Ag(CN)2]8[Ag(CN)]2, Kll [Cu(edbea)Ag2(CN)4]-H20, K12 [Cd(edbea)2] [Ag(CN)2]2.H2() and K13 [Cd(edbea)Ag3(CN)5] against plant pathogenic fungi, Alternaria solani, Rhizoctonia solani and Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici. Inhibitory effects of the compounds were evaluated by well diffusion method with different concentrations (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 ve 40 ug/ml). Beside the positive control Maneb (2.4 mg/ml) and cupper hydroxide (1.25 mg/ml), negative control %50 dimethyl sulfoxide was used. Results demonstrated that most of the compounds inhibited the mycelial growth of the fungi. K.13 was highly effective and suppressive the radial mycelial growth of F. oxysporum f.sp. lycopersici, while K9 exhibited maximum inhibition (98%) on mycelial growth of R. solani at 40 ug/ml. However, K4 was found to be the less effective in suppessing F. oxysporum f.sp. lycopersici. It was also observed that radial mycelial growth of selected pathogens reduced with increasing concentration of test compound. LC so values of the compounds agaiast mycelia growth of tested fungi changed between 6 to 24.5 ug/ml. LC« values changed 19 to 198.7 ug/ml. Of the tested compounds K.1 the most effective one with 90.51% mycelial growth inhibition at 20 ug/ml. AH the tested compounds except K.4, K7 and Kll resulted in 88.79 to 100% growth inhibition at 30 and 40ug/ml. K4, K7 and Kl 1 were not effected the mycelial growth of the pathogen even at 40 ug/ml. Similar effect was observed in spor germination test. The compound KII did not inhibited the spor germination of the pathogen at all concentrations tested The present study reports that the bimetallic cyanido complexes could be used as an alternative in control of the phytopathogenie fungi tested.
