Zusammenfassung:The results of analysis of a bone tissue neoplasm on the mandible of an Early Mesozoic temnospondyl amphibian Benthosuchus korobkovi Ivachnenko from the Tikhvinskoe locality (upper reaches of the Volga River, Yaroslavl oblast (Region); Lower Triassic, Lower Olenekian substage) are presented. The use of multispiral computed tomography enabled a rather well justified conclusion of the neoplastic (tumor) character of this pathological formation. Non-odontogenic osteoma is the most likely diagnosis, but hemangioma and fibrotic dysplasia cannot be ruled out either.
