Zusammenfassung:Information systems in organisations can be viewed as social systems and the formulation of IS strategy as a social process. Alternative formulation models have been based on formal-rational or power-behavioural approaches, but here we propose a holistic analysis involving the context, content and process of strategy formulation. Some aspects of the methodology are illustrated using a case study of a UK building society.
