Zusammenfassung:This study focused on the prediction of fatigue behavior of plain woven fabrics using the yarn fatigue property and the structural-mechanical parameters of the fabric. For this purpose, the Eyring viscoelastic model was developed as a theoretical analysis to predict the fabric elongation while subjected to a constant cyclic load. It was suggested that the elongation of the fabric under constant cyclic load consists of three parts: fabric decrimping arising from yarn slippage in the fabric, yarn decrimping, and finally yarn elongation. Comparison between the theoretical and experimental results for different weave densities of fabric revealed a reasonable agreement between them. It was concluded that an increase in weave density leads to decrease in fabric fatigue.
