Zusammenfassung:A summary of the doctoral dissertation of behavioral scientist Leroy Wells, Jr., is presented. This summary was prepared to convey the whole of Wells' thinking in the research project - his theory, method, findings and conclusions. Embedded group analysis is explained, and a quilt of student life model is presented. Two studies were conducted with students from a historically black university located in an urban setting in the eastern US.
