Distribution of Pension Benefits on Divorce: Some Unresolved Analytical Issues: Abstract

The authors were involved in a study of the analytical procedures and assumptions for the distribution of pension benefits on divorce. The purpose of the study was (1) to review the positions that the courts have taken; (2) to organize them within an analytical framework; and (3) to identify and articulate the unresolved issues which impede the court's ability to render economically unbiased decisions. This article presents the findings of that study.
