Zusammenfassung: | DeVos examines the ways in which Madeleine de l'Aubespine's Petrarchism and poetic persona are influenced by her personal and poetical relationship with Ronsard. She begin by briefly analyzing how both poets entered into an intertextual dialogue with the opening sonnet of Petrarch's Canzoniere in order to establish their distinct authorial identities and highlight how l'Aubespine's adaptation of the famous opening sonnet is mediated by Ronsrd's 1560 Elegie to Cassandre. She then focuses on the final decade of Ronsard's life and career, in order to better appreciate his transfer of specific key topoi to his fille d'alliance. |
