Zusammenfassung:We have described a novel and efficient method for synthesizing cyclic carbonates with ‘Co (NO3)2.6H2O/L6’‐catalyzed coupling of epoxides and CO2 under solvent‐free conditions. We proposed a possible reaction mechanism based on some control experiments. Phenylpropiolic acid could be provided by using the same method. A catalyst system derived from Co (NO3)2.6H2O and 2,5‐dihydroxyterephthalate (L6) has been applied to the coupling reaction of epoxides and CO2.
