Zusammenfassung:Substantively arranged archival data – individual as well as comparatively – contribute to the effectiveness of their use. In this paper, we reviewed and arranged data on pipe organs collected by heritage officers in the past 100 years. To rationalize the processing of approx. 6,000 pages of typescripts, containing individual buildings censuses, various software tools were applied in the analysis of texts. In the first part, these work methods that are potentially useful in other related fields are described in more detail. The results surprisingly showed that registrars in the field overlooked almost two-thirds of the then-existing pipe organs. The second part of this discussion is substantive and represents content categorisation from 311 records where pipe organs were observed. We chose seven categories showing scientific identification, general description, and evaluation for each musical instrument. In comparing the results, we attempted to find reasons for marginalisation of pipe organs in research to date and encourage a more in-depth future consideration.
