A Comparison of Calculation Methods for Non-Elastic Absorption Coefficients Using the Model Seismic Data Pattern

—This article discusses the estimation of the Q -factor of a medium using model seismic data. The study includes a brief overview of the software designed for modeling seismic wave fields with account for the Q factor. The comparison of the results obtained using different Q -calculating algorithms and model seismic data with different signal/noise ratio gives a reliable estimate of the error of Q -factor determination, which can be taken into account when processing real seismic data.
