Zusammenfassung: | The numerical modeling of wind and sea waves with the WAVEWATCH III discrete spectral model is used to analyze their frequency in the range of hazardous values in the Sea of Japan and the Sea of Okhotsk in 1979-2018. It is found that, in most cases, these events are caused by the passage of tropical cyclones. Some long-term trends are revealed in the frequency of hazardous phenomena (wind and sea waves) and tropical cyclones passing over the Far Eastern seas. The relation between the passage of tropical cyclones and the atmospheric circulation features over some parts of the region is found. |
