Zusammenfassung:The deaths of famous writers and film or music celebrities have helped mythologize suicide. At the same time, certain sites have been recognized as propitious, almost idyllic, spots for committing suicide. These locations have also served in novels, films, and TV series that consider the topic of suicide directly or indirectly. The representation of these spaces in popular culture draws attention to them as ideal locations for committing suicide and even plays a role in promoting them into icons of “dark tourism.”
