Professor Eric Richards – an Obituary

An obituary for Eric Richards, a prolific and highly respected historian of the Scottish Highlands and Islands and imperial emigration, who died on September 21, 2018 at the age of 78 , is presented. Richards has a huge influence on the development of the history programme at the University of Adelaide and in establishing the main lines of the research. He also undertook a research into emigration, south Australian history and the Highlands at the Flinders University.
