Zusammenfassung:Following on from the success of her book By the Way, a selection of public art in Ireland, 2010, Ann Lane's just-published By the Way 2, contains over 1,000 public sculptures, each clearly photographed with accompanying explanatory text. The book contains new art works unveiled over the past decade and further, older pieces not included in the first guide. Many of the sculptures -- but not all -- are the result of commissions made by local county councils under the 1997 established Per Cent for Art Scheme, whereby 1% up to a maximum of €64,000 of the capital cost of public building projects is set aside for art.
