Mixing of multiple coflowing confined laminar streams

A numerical analysis is carried out of the flow and heat transfer characteristics of systems with three coaxial laminar streams. The results demonstrate the fundamental differences between this flow and those of a simple confined jet, and of a confined jet in a single coflowing environment. Results obtained for a range of the governing parameters demonstrate the increased mixing due to the presence of the third stream. (AIAA)
