Zusammenfassung:Caliroa cerasi (Hymenoptera: Tenthredinidae) is an insect pest with increasing importance in Syria on the promising cherry culture since 20thcentury. A preliminary study was carried out investigating the susceptibility of four different cultivars A: Abu-Jilda, B: Tiliani, C: Abu-Hiz and D: Abu-Nucta in the orchard. Subsequent study was confirmed in the laboratory. Results in both orchard and laboratory showed that C and D were more resistant than A and B, and that D was the superior over all. In the other hand, those cultivars were subjected to three concentrations of Dimethoate 1, 3 and 5 ppm in another orchard and laboratory investigation. Results showed decreased number of living larva detected on both experimental part for the all concentrations over the control.
