Phenylalanine-stimulated secretion of cholecystokinin is calcium dependent

The secretion of cholecystokinin was examined in STC-1 cells, an intestinal cholecystokinin (CCK)-secreting cell line. L-phenylalanine was found to increase the release of CCK, cytosolic calcium levels and calcium channel activity.
