Upregulation of adipocyte metabolism by agouti protein : possible paracrine actions in yellow mouse obesity

Adipose and hepatic mRNA levels were analyzed for fatty acid synthase (FAS) and stearoyl-CoA desaturase (SCD). Results show that the agouti protein can directly increase lipogenesis in adipocytes.
