Zusammenfassung:Emulsions are dispersion systems, where one phase is dispersed in another phase in the presence of an emulsifying agent (surfactant). Emulsion fuel can reduce cylinder peak pressure from the combustion chamber compared to using neat diesel fuel. This research use a single-cylinder diesel engine, operates using water diesel emulsion with water percentage of 30% and 35% by volume and diesel fuel as a comparison. Diesel operates with a speed of 1500 rpm and engine load 1000-4000 watts at 500-watt intervals. The results of research at high load showed that fuel consumption of E30 and E35 increased by 15.5% and 16.6%, thermal efficiency increased by 21% and 35.8% (respectively). Whereas HC and CO emissions increase along with the increase in water percentage.
