Zusammenfassung:The Size of settling flocs can be calculated with the method, settling velocity of interface, by using the Michaels and Bolger equation. In this study, the initial height affect was researched by the interface settling velocity method. At CaCl2 concentration of 0.1mol/l, the initial height of suspension sufficient to attain the terminal velocity was more than 40cm. At CaCl2 concentration of 0.6mol/l, the height was more than 30cm. The more dilute the salt concentration, the higher the sufficient height. In the case of deficient initial height, terminal velocity is not attained and the floc size and diameter are inadequately calculated.
