Zusammenfassung:Considerable attention has been given to the investigation of the distinguishing features of localized plastic deformation at the stage of linear work hardening. The study was made for a wide range of metals and alloys differing with respect to material state and crystal lattice type. The process of deformation localization is inherently a wave process characterized by wavelength and wave propagation velocity. It is found that the wavelength of localized deformation is related to the structural elements of the material. The dynamics and kinetics of the process of deformation localization at the pre-failure stage have been examined and the process parameters are related to the electronic properties of metals.
