Zusammenfassung: | The ability to achieve high-resolution image quality and clinical information about the patient are the benefits of new radiology technology. In the widening scope of radiology techniques and technological imaging advancements, there's a new responsibility imposed on clinicians to ensure patient safety. There are three components of the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) that have specific safety concerns: 1. The MRI system's static magnetic field is always "on" even when the patient isn't in the room. 2. There are radiofrequency (RF) waves generated during an MRI. 3. There are gradient fields produced by electrical coils adjacent to the MRI magnet. There's a need for robust patient screening, monitoring of safety indicators, of ongoing evaluation of safety measures put in place. |
