Zusammenfassung:An amorphous silica-supported alkylammonium formate catalyst for the reductive transformation of carbon dioxide using silane as a reductant was developed. Alkylammonium iodide was grafted on amorphous silica, followed by anion exchange of iodide to formate. The successful synthesis of the catalyst was confirmed by solid-state 13C CP/MAS NMR spectroscopy, FT-IR spectroscopy, and elemental analysis. While silica-supported alkylammonium formate exhibited catalytic activity in the hydrosilylation of CO2 to generate silylformate as the main product, no catalytic activity was observed in the presence of silica-supported alkylammonium iodide.
