Zusammenfassung:This article explores the concept of aging well, outlines rural healthcare providers' roles in support of rural older Americans, and offers healthcare policy considerations for aging well in rural America. Clinical care accounts for only 20 percent of a person's health and well-being. Other factors-health behaviors, physical environment, and social and economic factors-have a much greater impact. For older adults in rural America to age well and to achieve well-being, there must be multiple policy actions involving housing, transportation, and human services.
