Zusammenfassung:The present study examined 175 heterosexual couples’ perceptions of their partners problematic bedtime media-use and their own sexual satisfaction. Using actor partner independence modeling (APIM), results indicate a significant negative association between couples’ report of their partners’ problematic media-use at bedtime and their own sexual satisfaction. Furthermore, there was a significant pathway between male participant’s perception of their female partner’s problematic bedtime media-use and her self-report of her own sexual satisfaction. Marriage and family therapists may consider taking a more proactive approach to their clients’ media-use by assessing and, when appropriate, intervening and developing treatment plans that address how problematic media-use within their relationship is a potential barrier to sexual satisfaction and a harmful to other relationship outcomes.
