Zusammenfassung:The in-hospital mortality rate for patients with acute myocardial infarction treated with percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty is about 2% compared with 7% to 8% after thrombolytic therapy with streptokinase or tissue-plasminogen activator. This difference may be in part related to certain adverse effects of these thrombolytic agents that have not been given sufficient attention.
