Protective effects of adenosine in the perfused rat heart : changes in metabolism and intracellular ion homeostasis

The effects of adenosine on high-energy phosphate metabolism, hydrogen cation and calcium-2 cation accumulation, lactate accumulation and contractile dysfunction following ischemia were determined in the perfused rat heart.
