Novobiocin forms cation-permeable ion channels in rat fetal distal lung epithelium

The effect of novobiocin on ion transport by primary cultures of fetal distal lung epithelium cultured from 20-day gestationally aged rats was studied. Novobiocin was found to affect the bioelectric properties of sodium ion transporting lung epithelium.
