Signals mediating stimulation of cardiomyocyte glucose transport by the α-adrenergic agonist phenylephrine

A study examined the intracellular mediators of phenylephrine's action on glucose transport. The results support the notion that phenylephrine induces at least two different mechanisms leading to an enhancement of glucose transport of cardiomyocytes, each being related to a different signal.
