Interleukin-1 stimulates phosphatidic acid-mediated phospholipase D activity in human mesangial cells

Subsequent effects of interleukin-1 (IL-1) on human mesangial cells (MC) and microsomes prepared from these cells were examined. Data indicate that stimulation of human MC by IL-1 results in activation of phospholipase D.
