Zusammenfassung:The question of whether the removal of carcasses contaminated with the bacteria that cause avian botulism actually reduces death from botulism is addressed. Botulism toxin production in carcasses of birds that died from botulism and from other causes were investigated, and the role of both types of carcasses in the initiation of botulism outbreaks was evaluated.
