20-hydroxyeicosatetraenoic acid is formed in response to EGF and is a mitogen in rat proximal tubule

In a study, the effect of epidermal growth factor (EGF) on proximal tubular 20-hydroxyeicosatetraenoic acid (20-HETE) in relation to EGF in proximal tubule cell preparations was further characterized. It was shown that 20-HETE is a potent mitogen in proximal tubular cells.
