Low permeabilities of MDCK cell monolayers : a model barrier epithelium

Lavelle et al measured the transepithelial electrical resistance and isotopic water and urea fluxes for Madin-Darby canine kidney type I and II cells. Madin-Darby canine kidney cells grown on semipermeable supports form a model barrier epithelium.
