Cross-linked hemoglobin increases fractional reabsorption and GFR in hypoxic isolated perfused rat kidneys
Baines et al examined the ability of human red blood cells and a cell-free oxygen carrier to maintain kidney function under hypoxic conditions. It was determined that o-R-poly-Hb was most effective in maintaining renal function.
