Glomerular response to acute protein load is not blunted by high-protein diet or nephron reduction

A study was conducted to evaluate in rats the glomerular filtration rate changes for different degrees of nephron loss, by use of different kinds of protein load. Chronic protein feeding increases GFR only when nephron loss is not too severe.
