Investigation of Cation Order in MgSiO(3)-Rich Garnet Using (29)Si and (27)Al MAS NMR Spectroscopy

A 29Si nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) study of three 29Si-enriched garnets along the enstatite-pyrope join is detailed. Quantitative determination of the occupancies of the two octahedral sites is possible for the enstatite-composition end-member.
