Zusammenfassung:Four groups of three-week-old male Sprague-Dawley rats received daily oral dose of pure refined food grade ƙ CGN (500 mg /kg BW/day), ƙ CGN with Na (500 mg/kg BW/day + 10% Na+) , ƙ CGN with Ca (500 mg/kg BW/day + 10% Ca++) or no ƙ CGN as control group for 14 weeks. [...]no significant differences have been observed in total glycerides, total lipids, high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL), liver enzymes, urea, creatinine or hematological parameters between all groups. Serum antioxidant biomarkers in rats treated with ƙ CGN+Ca showed significant decreased (P < 0.05) in both superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity (156.92 ± 9.34 U/ml) compared with control (209.60 ± 32.59 U/ml) and glutathione reductase (GR) activity (3.23 ± 0.16 U/ml) compared with control (7.39 ± 0.38 U/ml).
