Regeneration and revascularization of a nerve-intact skeletal muscle graft in the spontaneously hypertensive rat

Carlsen et al investigated muscle growth and maturation in hypertensive rats in order to determine if muscle regeneration and maturation following an injury were affected by the hypertensive environment. Results indicate that hypertension did not prevent the restoration of a structurally normal capillary network in a regenerating, fast-twitch skeletal muscle.
